Swedish Honey Processing AB is the largest processing plant for Swedish and imported honey. The company is owned by SBR (Swedish Beekeepers Association) and LRF (Farmers Association) through Farmers Finance AB. Their classic honey has all the old favorite uses: baking, a sweetener in drinks, as a spread on sandwiches and more.
The color of honey depends on which flowers the bees visited. Heather gives a dark honey with a strong flavor while rape and dandelion produces light honey. Lindblom honey becomes slightly greenish. To raise nectar for a pound of honey, bees have to do three to four million flower visits. This corresponds to a flight distance of two times around the world.
- No honey should be fed to infants 12 months or younger.
