In Norway, waffles are served as dessert, and are heart-shaped. I think they're rather tasty as breakfast also.
These waffles are much richer and thicker than american waffles, and are very flavorful. I have made it low-fat and it turns out excellent, but the original recipe is very nice as well.
they are cooked the same as regular waffles.
low fat version:
substitute sour cream with yogurt
1 1/4 Tsp. cardamom
honey instead of sugar for more flavor.
1 cup soymilk (using less eggs, it is more thick so adding the soymilk makes the batter more pliable)
top with: almond butter, applesauce, blackberries
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. ground cardamom
1 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup melted butter
3 Tbsp. butter for frying
